Mac Book Air or Mac Book Pro

Wednesday, July 13, 2011 - 12:10

Alot of my friends ask me whether they should get a Mac Book Air or Mac Book Pro, well my views is that its targeting two different audience, so if you want the portability and the "lightness" of the Mac Book Air and that you dont use software that requires alot of CPU power then by all means the Mac boook air is the best option. I believe its best for students, professionals who are constantly on the move that only uses basic PC features like surfing the internet, occasional photos editing, word processing and spreadsheet, FaceTime etc...These task do not require super CPU power, and the Mac Book Air is totally capable of performing.

If you are like me who needs powers and grunt to run 20 application at the same time including Adobe Suite, Virtual machine to run Windows XP or Windows 7 to test, then the Mac Book Pro line is the best option, it has a standalone graphics card and the ablility to have upto 8GB of RAM to run many application at the same time.

So to sums it up, dont buy a Mac Book Air because it looks pretty and its the new thinnest laptop on the market, but buy it because it is what you need and more importantly it suits your needs.
